Outrunning the Robot Apocalypse: A Knit Mural

“Knitting.  It’s for grannies, isn’t it? All those tea cozies, Christmas Balaclavas, and miniature scarves for eggs? But what if a robot could knit? They wouldn’t make a bobble hat for a teddy bear, they would make something awesome.  Right?  Like a laser pterodactyl, or a space ship, or the ultimate running shoe…”

The above is the lead-in from U-Dox’ video about illustrator Damien Weighill‘s latest creation to promote the Addidas Primeknit running shoe.  While I can’t confirm that the running shoe will help you outrun a robot apocalypse, I can say that the knit work is awesome.   The knit tapestry measures 2 meters and depicts killer robots, a stocking-hatted teddy bear, socks, a sad ant wearing a mittens, and  a pterodactyl shooting lasers from its eyes.

Nice work!
