A combat tank that was used in World War II was the setting for this work of art displayed in front of the Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center in the centre of Copenhagen. It was a gentle, peaceful protest against the Danish involvement in the war in Iraq. The protest was created by Marianne Joergensen who says, “Unsimilar to a war, it signals home, care, closeness and time for reflection.” The tank was covered from the canon to the caterpillar tracks with pink yarn squares knitted and crocheted by nearly 1,000 global volunters.
